This conference will:
~Provide an engaging international venue for exchanging ideas and practices relative to school librarianship worldwide.
~Internationalize school librarianship, including resources and services for all students, and well as school librarian preparation programs and research.
~Foster and deepen professional networking and relationships among school librarians and school librarian educators.
~Showcase the efforts, including research, of school librarianship in the USA and the rest of the world.
~Increase the visibility and viability of IASL.

~Long Beach, California is a lively, diverse city, located by Los Angeles. Visitors can fly into three international airports, and enjoy a wide variety of attractions and entertainment.
~The conference site, California State University Long Beach (CSULB), is a large urban university on a lovely campus with its own attractions.
~The University, College of Education, Educational Technology and Media Leadership program, and Teacher Librarian program are coordinating efforts to host the conference.
~The California School Library Foundation (CSLF), California School Library Association (CSLA), Long Beach School Librarian Association (LBSLA), Los Angeles School Librarian Association (LASLA), and CUE are helping to plan and sponsor this important event.
